It’s not that we don’t want to get the good news.
But there’s a reason why we’re still here: We’re all here because we’re just regular people.
The good news is that we’re not going to die tomorrow.

And the sadest news of the year may not even be a news story at all.
A week after a major hurricane hit the Carolinas, the Washington Post put out a story headlined, “It’s a good thing no one is dying of cancer.”
It’s a sentiment echoed by other publications across the country.
But that’s not what’s really interesting about this news story: The Washington Times, one of the oldest papers in the country, ran a story called “The sad news of 2017: We will likely live through this year” that concluded with the words, “I don’t know why it’s a sad story, but it is.”
Why do we care about the news?
Because it matters.
And it’s worth noting that the story wasn’t about whether or not we’re going to survive the next five years.
That was a topic for a different piece in the Post.
Instead, the story focused on the sad fact that we won’t.
But the sad truth is that the next few years will be really sad.
Because it’s not a good news story.
And if you’re still reading, you probably have an idea why.
The Post’s article isn’t really about whether the nation will survive the year.
Instead it’s about whether we’re all going to live through it.
That’s the most important thing we should know about the year, the Post article says.
The fact that the Washington Times isn’t even trying to be informative about what’s going on in the world, the world is going to come to us.
The world is coming to us because we are all here.
So, what do we do?
In our most optimistic and optimistic minds, we all know that the world isn’t going to end any time soon.
We all know this.
That our lives are going to get better, and our futures will get brighter.
We’re so optimistic that we want to believe it.
But in reality, the odds are that we will all end up living through some version of the worst year in human history.
If that were the case, the only way to survive would be to get out of our homes and go to a different city.
The problem is, we don, in fact, live in different cities.
We live in a very different planet, with its own unique climate, its own peculiar natural world, its very own unique culture, its unique way of life.
In other words, we’re a very distinct species from all of the others.
Our planet is so different from that of the rest of the universe that even a single year in the future is going the way of the dinosaurs.
And this isn’t the first time we’ve witnessed a year like this.
We’ve experienced such a year in recent history.
The dinosaurs are on the run, and we’re now facing another extinction crisis.
The first one to hit us was a major one in the 20th century.
But even with that, there were other big disasters.
And we’ve had another in the 21st.
So the fact that all of these events happen at the same time doesn’t mean that they don’t have a common cause.
There’s a common story behind all of them.
And that story is that humanity has lost its way.
There is a common set of forces at work that are destroying our world.
These forces include climate change, population growth, natural disasters, economic downturns, mass migration, and a host of other things.
We need to do everything we can to keep this world together.
So how can we do that?
How can we get along with the other species that live in our world?
That’s exactly what the scientists at the Carnegie Institution for Science, a private, nonprofit research organization based in Washington, D.C., are working on.
They’re a little bit like the scientists on a field trip to the Arctic in the 1980s, who were told by the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to stay out of the way and keep the birds and seals at bay.
